RETINITIS PIGMENTOSA ( Night Blindness)
Retinitis Pigmentosa is disease which is acquired from parents .
It's main feature is poor vision at night and progressive loss of vision . Typically vision in RP is described as tunnel vision , where objects right in front of the eye are visible and peripheral vision undergoes progressive contraction .
There is no available treatment for Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Using low dose of Vitamin A may slow the progression of this disease.
Intake of nutraceuticals may also help in slowing down the progress of RP.
Though loss of vision is progressive , a patient may retain a bit of vision for a long time.
