What Is Cataract?
A cataract is the clouding or whitening of the eye’s natural lens, which is normally clear. As this cloudiness increases, it interferes with the passage of light into the eye, causing a gradual decline in vision. If left untreated, cataracts can lead to complete opacity and total loss of vision.

How Cataracts Are Treated?
Cataract surgery is a safe and highly effective procedure. The cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with a clear artificial intraocular lens (IOL).
The most advanced technique is Phacoemulsification – a tiny ultrasonic probe breaks the cataract into small pieces, which are gently removed and replaced with a foldable IOL through a micro-incision.
